‘Scream 4’ Turns Social Media Into a Suspect [Halloweenies Podcast]

Rejoice, Woodsboro! The Stab-athon continues! As promised, Halloweenies co-hosts Justin Gerber, Dan Caffrey, McKenzie Gerber, and special guest Diandra Lazor have returned to the barn to finish their dissection of 2011’s Scream 4.

In the second of two episodes dedicated to the fourth chapter, the discuss the perils of social media stardom, debate whether they’d party after friends’ deaths, praise the film’s surprising (and effective) climax, slice and dice through every new face in Woodsboro, meditate on the stakes of Sidney’s fate, and dream of being the first kill in a horror movie.

So, put that Ghostface mask on again, grab another lemon square, and stream the episode below.New to the Halloweenies? Catch up with the gang by revisiting their essential episodes on past franchises such as Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Friday the 13th via Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, RadioPublic, Acast, Google Podcasts, and RSS.

You can also become a member of their Patreon, The Rewind, for hilariously irreverent commentaries (e.g. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Gremlins, Child’s Play) and one-off deep dives on your favorite rentals (e.g. Saw, 28 Days Later, Manhunter, Near Dark). Each month promises something new and unexpected from the wildest corners of the genre.
