‘The Inheritance’: Netflix Must Survive the Night With ‘Juan of the Dead’ Director Alejandro Brugués!

Alejandro Brugués, director of the awesome Juan of the Dead and the best segment in the Nightmare Cinema anthology, is putting everything on the line in The Inheritance, a new horror from Netflix.

The Inheritance sounds absolutely crazy…

“On the eve of his 75th birthday, billionaire Charles Abernathy invites his four estranged children back home out of fear that tonight someone – or something – is coming to kill him.

“To ensure his family will help protect him from whatever’s coming, Abernathy puts each of their inheritances on the line – they’ll get nothing if he’s found dead by dawn.”

Originally titled The Last Will and Testament of Charles Abernathy, the film stars Rachel Nichols, who appeared in The Amityville Horror (2005), The Woods and P2, with Bob Gunton (The Shawshank Redemption, 24), Austin Stowell (Catch-22Bridge of Spies), Briana Middleton (The Tender Bar)David Walton (New GirlBad Moms)Reese Alexander (The Interview, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), and Peyton List (Bunk’dHubie Halloween).

It was penned by Chris LaMont and Joe Russo (Nightmare Cinema).

Brugués also directed the “Into the Dark” episode Pooka Lives! as well as episodes of “50 States of Fright” and “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series”.
