More Slashing and Gunplay Action in Latest ‘Wanted: Dead’ SXSW Trailer [Watch]

First revealed last October, developer Soleil and publisher 110 Industries’ upcoming slice-and-dice action game Wanted: Dead has unveiled a new trailer at the SXSW Gaming Awards that doubles down on the bloody dismemberment and gunplay. All set to Bella and the Switchblades’ “The Wild One”, the trailer captures the fun 80s action movie feel with the over-the-top violence we all love.

In addition, Soleil has put together another mock video starring Stefanie Joosten as Vivienne Niemantsverdriet, a retired Olympic medalist and former celebrity chef who has joined the ranks of the Manu Militari mercenary unit as a master gunsmith. This latest episode shows just why being a gunsmith is far more appropriate for Vivienne.

For those who missed it the first time, Wanted: Dead is inspired by the combat gameplay found in titles like Devil May Cry, Bayonetta and Ninja Gaiden. Set in a dark vision of cyberpunk Hong Kong, players assume the role of Lt. Hannah Stone, leader of an elite team known as the “Zombie Squad”,  who work outside the confines of the traditional police force.

Wanted: Dead is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, and is expected for release later this year.
