The classic Toxic Crusaders toy line from Playmates back in the 1990s was my very first introduction to Troma’s Toxic Avenger, and truth be told, it would be several years before I even realized that the kid-friendly animated series was spawned from Troma’s gory movies.
That brightly-colored toy line is getting a remake here in 2022 from Trick or Treat Studios, the company announced over the weekend as part of their virtual Toy Fair 2022 event!
The throwback line of Toxic Crusaders toys from Trick or Treat Studios will kick off with Citizen Toxie himself, and they’re working with the studio behind those original Playmates toys.
“We’re gonna try to get them as similar to the retro ones – a little bit taller… a little bit beefier… more detail,” Trick or Treat Studios explains in the video you’ll find below.
