Jordan Peele’s ‘Nope’ Final Trailer Promises One Thing: It’s Not What You Think…

As promised, the final trailer for Jordan Peele‘s third horror movie Nope has arrived, and it’s loaded up with all kinds of new footage and additional teases about the storyline.

The good news? Even with this brand new 3-minute final trailer it’s still hard to know *exactly* what Nope is about, the trailer making it clear that “it’s not what you think…”

All we know is that SOMETHING appears in the skies above a ranch in the middle of nowhere, with Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer‘s characters hoping to make it big by capturing “undeniable proof of aliens on camera.” Of course, whatever’s up there may not actually be aliens – and knowing Jordan Peele, there’s probably something more going on here.

Watch the Nope final trailer below, along with a modified international trailer!

Universal will be releasing Nope in theaters on July 22, 2022. The film is being referred to in official press materials as “a new pop nightmare” and “an expansive horror epic.”

In the film, “Residents in a lonely gulch of inland California who bear witness to an uncanny and chilling discovery.”

Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out) will be reteaming with Peele on the mysterious movie, with the cast also including Steven Yeun (“The Walking Dead,” Mayhem) and Keke Palmer (“Scream”). Michael Wincott (The Crow), Barbie Ferreira and Brandon Perea also star.

Nope is part of a “five-year exclusive production partnership” Universal Pictures inked with Peele and his Monkeypaw Productions, and it’s been described as a “horror event.” Mind you, anything from Peele at this point is instantly an event, but we can probably expect Nope to be Peele’s biggest movie to date, with an announced IMAX optimization. On that note, the film’s cinematographer is Hoyte van Hoytema, whose previous work includes Let the Right One InSpectre, and the Christopher Nolan films InterstellarDunkirk, and Tenet.

The Top 10 Streaming Scary Movies of Today (According to Netflix)

Given that Netflix really is the master of their own data, how many times a viewer streams The Ridiculous 6, or what films don't get watched all the way straight through, or how many times someone watches an episode of Bill Nye Saves the World, it was easy for them to come up with the list based on just one percentage: 70 percent.
