Disney’s ‘Werewolf by Night’ Trailer Teases Gateway Horror in Black and White!

Disney+ is howling at the moon as they continue to get into the Halloween spirit. In addition to the hotly-anticipated Hocus Pocus sequel, the streamer is set to release its werewolf series Werewolf by Night!

At today’s big Disney event, the trailer was dropped revealing a classic black and white horror story that director Michael Giacchino said he wanted to feel like something that scared you as a kid! Good ol’ fashioned gateway horror!

Gael Garcia Bernal (M. Night Shyamalan’s Old) is playing ha character who is capable of transforming into a werewolf while retaining human intellects.

Laura Donnelly is rumored to be be Nina Price, who becomes Vampire by Night!

“Price is the niece of the character Jack Russell/Werewolf by Night and a vampire/werewolf hybrid. She carried the Lycan gene and was further changed after being bitten by a vampire.”

Wikipedia explains, “Jack Russell is a descendant of the mystically-altered offshoot of humans known as Lycanthropes. During the night of the full moon and the two nights surrounding it he is forced to mutate into a werewolf, a large, powerful form which is a hybrid of human and wolf, and loses his human intellect. Through a series of events, he is also capable of mutating voluntarily outside of the full moon, at which time he remains in control.”

Notably, Issue #32 of the Werewolf by Night comic series features the first appearance from Moon Knight, a character that has its own Disney+ series.
