Battle The Medieval Undead in ‘Blight: Survival’ [Trailer]

It’s been said before, but we could always use more medieval horror. With The Astronauts’ Witchfire still in the works for next year, Icelandic developers Haenir Studio has joined the fray with the announcement of their co-op action horror title Blight: Survival. Described as an “action-horror roguelite”, Blight: Survival will see you battle the undead with up to three friends amidst an endless war between two rival states.

Set in an alternate 14th century, it would seem that all of this fighting has given way to a new strain of blight that has sprung from remains of the dead within the No Man’s Land between the states. And given the amount of death around, it’s grown in strength, threatening both sides.  As a result, the call goes out for those brave enough to take on the dead with the promise of wealth as a reward.

Of course, seeing as you’re doing this in the midst of a war, there will be those around you that have been caught in between the war and the undead. You can choose to take advantage of the situation by pillaging those less fortunate, but beware of repercussions. Luckily, you’ve got plenty of weapons and armor that you can customize to suit your playstyle.

No release date has been announced for Blight: Survival, and so far, the game has only been announced for PC via Steam and GOG.
