Horrorpunk RPG ‘Morbid: The Lords of Ire’ Announced for Later This Year [Trailer]

Fans of Still Running’s “horrorpunk” RPG Morbid: The Seven Acolytes will have more to dig into later this year. Together with publisher Merge Games, Still Running has announced a 3D sequel, Morbid: The Lords of Ire, which is set to arrive in 2023 on Steam.

The story sees the antagonists from the first game, the Gahars, coming back once again. It’s up to you, the the Striver of Dibrom, to stop them once again. You’ll once again have to slay and scavenge your way through a tortured world filled with Lovecraftian horrors and Cronenbergian gore, where you are the underdog.

You’ll be battling your way through the five worlds of Ire – disgusting horrorpunk realms populated by five unique factions, from wintry mountains to rotten cities and beyond. Eviscerate the five fallen Lords of Ire and banish the Gahars.

Featuring an improved version of The Seven Acolytes’ Sanity System, players will experience a dynamic adventure in Morbid: The Lords of Ire that bends and shapes around your actions. Sanity influences how enemies react to you, whilst providing specific perks based on your actions to provide a new, dynamic way to experience the world of Morbid. The Lords of Ire also features revamped weapons, progression and upgrade systems.
