Slasher-Inspired ‘Suffer the Night’ Gets April 17 Release Date

Those of you waiting for Tainted Pact’s love letter to 80s slashers with their upcoming Survival Horror game Suffer the Night won’t have to wait much longer. The devs have announced that Suffer the Night will release on  Steam on April 17th. And yes, that demo is still very much available.

On top of the release date, Tainted Pact has also revealed new screenshots for Suffer the Night, which is bringing “all of the campy 80s slasher goodness you could ask for, with the added bonus of classic dungeon crawler gameplay.”

In Suffer the Night, players take on the role of Stacey Liden, a painter isolated in her cabin in the woods who specializes in horror illustrations. After receiving an envelope containing a mysterious floppy disk, Stacy boots it up on her old PC and begins playing. As she progresses through the terror of the text-based adventure, she’s visited by a mysterious stranger, who quickly turns threatening, urging her to finish the game. As she does so, the strange horror within the game begin to seep into the real world.

That’s not to say that the mysterious stranger won’t hesitate to make his presence known for other things. You’ll have to address his disruptions throughout your playtime, or suffer the consequences.
