‘Dead Cells’ Has Sold Over 10 Million Copies, More Updates Planned

If you enjoyed playing Motion Twin and Evil Empire’s Dead Cells, you’re not the only one. In fact, according to the developers, more than 10 million people have taken the plunge into the roguelike since its launch. And things aren’t slowing down yet.

Buoyed by a whopping 34 free updates and four paid DLCs since its initial Early Access launch on Steam back in 2017, Dead Cells has sold more than 10 million copies across consoles and PC. That number was certainly helped by the most recent DLC in Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania (which we loved).

Evil Empire and Motion Twin aren’t about to let things rest for the award-winning roguelike just yet, as they also announced that they’re exploring further future updates for the title all the way through 2025. “With years of successful updates and expansions behind it after taking over live ops of Dead Cells in 2019, the studio is tinkering with its time-tested methodology, experimenting with ideas for future updates and new ways for fans to enjoy one of their favorite roguelikes.”

Dead Cells is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. It’s also available on mobile devices via the App Store and Google Play. The PlayStation 5 will be receiving a port of its own on August 11.
