‘The Texas Chain Saw Massacre’ Celebrates 1 Million Units Sold and Over 5 Million Total Players

In the wake of huge development news, a promise that new content is coming through 2024, and a Double XP weekend – not to mention last week’s announcement that horror icon Barbara Crampton is joining the game! – Gun Interactive has announced this morning that The Texas Chain Saw Massacre has officially sold 1.1 million units in the past six months!

Additionally, they’ve announced that the game has seen 4.5 million players on Xbox Game Pass, while 5.6 million people in total have played The Texas Chain Saw Massacre video game.

Gun Interactive tweets this morning in celebration of the news, “To all 5.6 million players who stepped into Texas, thank you for sharing this unique horror experience with us.”

What can you expect from the game in the coming months? In addition to Barbara Crampton, a brand new map titled “The Mill” is on the way, along with a new Family member.

A “Museum Mode” for the Family House map is also coming soon.

Stay tuned for more on The Texas Chain Saw Massacre as we learn it.

The game features classic villains from the movies as well as new family members, and the events of the Chain Saw game take place *before* Tobe Hooper’s original classic.

Brandon Trush writes in his review for BD, “asymmetrical horror evolves to fit a terror classic.”
