‘Heretic’ Will Test Your Faith on 4K UHD & Blu-ray from A24

On the heels of this week’s Digital release, Heretic is up for pre-order on special edition 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray from A24.

Written and directed by A Quiet Place scribes Scott Beck & Bryan Woods, the horror-thriller stars Hugh Grant, Sophie Thatcher, Chloe East, and Topher Grace.

Expected to ship in January, the 4K UHD costs $35 and the Blu-ray is $30. The 4K edition is presented in Dolby Vision HDR, while both versions feature Dolby Atmos audio.

Special Features include:

  • Audio commentary by writer-directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods
  • Seeing is Believing: Behind the Scenes of Heretic
  • 6 postcards with on-set photography by Kimberly French

In the film, “Two missionaries are forced to prove their faith when they knock on the wrong door and are greeted by a diabolical Mr. Reed, becoming ensnared in his deadly game of cat-and-mouse.”

Meagan Navarro wrote in wrote in her review, “Heretic is a movie that’s ultimately carried on the back of its villain, and Grant’s daffy, amused portrayal of Mr. Reed might be enough to make you a convert.” She also notes, “the smart casting, powerhouse performances, and an infectious sense of humor ensure that it remains engaging.”

Grant’s performance in Heretic just earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor.
