Konami Reveals ‘Silent Hill’ Remake Currently in Development From Bloober Team! [Watch]

Konami dropped more news on Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater and Silent Hill f during the Konami Press Start earlier this morning, offering up not only an extended look at a new online multiplayer mode for Snake Eater, a new developer diary for Silent Hill f, but also teasing another remake: the original Silent Hill!

During the broadcast, producers Noriaki Okamura and Yuji Korekado revealed more information about the Snake Vs. Monkey and Snake Vs. Bomberman game modes coming to Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater. The latter brings a new in-house collaboration with the Bomberman franchise, introducing gameplay mechanics from the Bomberman series to the Xbox Series version of the game.

Meanwhile, a new online multiplayer mode has been added to Snake Eater in Fox Hunt. Director Yu Sahara gave viewers a concept of the brand-new online multiplayer mode, character renders and early gameplay footage. The completely original mode “broadens the franchise’s core stealth element where players must utilize their environments to camouflage and evade opposing players.”

Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater releases August 28 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.

As for Silent Hill f, producer Motoi Okamoto, scriptwriter Ryukishi07, and members of NeoBards Entertainment gave players an in-depth look at the production of the game. Expanding upon last week’s Silent Hill Transmission, the group focuses on the game’s full-on turn towards Japanese horror.

According to NeoBards Game Director Al Wang, with this major thematic shift, “it was absolutely critical for us to not merely copy, but really understand what the key atmospheric elements that defined the classic Silent Hill titles were in order to evolve them for [Silent Hill f].”

Silent Hill f releases September 25 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

At the end of the Silent Hill f presentation, the familiar strings of Akira Yamaoaka‘s “Silent Hill” played, as it was revealed that the 1999 classic would indeed be getting a remake, coming from the Silent Hill 2 remake’s Bloober Team! No other info was revealed, other than the remake was “in development”.
