A classic monster returns to the big screen next year in Lee Cronin‘s The Mummy, a fresh take on the screen icon from the director of Evil Dead Rise that’s sure to breathe new life into the classic tale. We don’t know much about the movie at this time, but director Cronin has promised that it’ll “be unlike any Mummy movie you ever laid eyeballs on before.”
“I’m digging deep into the earth to raise something very ancient and very frightening,” a statement from Cronin continued before production began. On that note, production has now officially wrapped on The Mummy, announced by Cronin himself on Instagram this week.
Check out Cronin’s status update below and expect more soon.
The Mummy unwraps in theaters on April 17, 2026 from Warner Bros.
The cast includes Jack Reynor (Midsommar), Laia Costa (“The Wheel of Time”), May Calamawy (“Moon Knight”), Veronica Falcón (“Ozark”), May Elghety (Clash), Natalie Grace (“1923”), Shylo Molina (“The Afterparty”), and Billie Roy (Spirit Halloween: The Movie).
The project is the first under the recent Blumhouse-Atomic Monster merger, with the companies producing and co-financing for New Line Cinema. James Wan, Jason Blum, and John Keville are producing alongside Cronin under his Doppelgängers banner.
