Ka is a wheel and The Losers’ Club are once again walking through Stephen King’s The Stand as part of their event series, The Summer of the Stand. In anticipation of the short story collection It’s the End of the World as We Know It, the Losers are re-reading King’s magnum opus with three Twinner book episodes featuring a new ka-tet of Losers.
Today is the first of the three that finds the gang revisiting Book I: “Captain Trips”. Join Losers Jenn Adams, Randall Colburn, Ana Marie Cox, and Dan Pfleegor as they offer new perspectives on an old favorite. Topics include: the interstitial; how King depicts the world breaking down (and how it hits different in a post-COVID world; and King’s concepts of good and evil.
Stream below and stay tuned for Book II (July) and Book III (August). In addition to these episodes, the Losers will also be running additional content in The Barrens, including a new commentary for Mick Garris’ 1994 miniseries; side episodes in Dark Tower Detour, Jenn’s Character Corner. We’ll also have interviews with talent and scholars for the new collection.
