‘The House of the Dead 2: Remake’ Comes to Switch and PC on August 7 [Trailer]

While console fans will have to wait a little longer, for those on PC and the Nintendo Switch, you’ll be getting The House of the Dead 2: Remake later this summer. Forever Entertainment and developer MegaPixel Studio announced that the remake will launch for Switch and PC via Steam and GOG on August 7, with releases on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series and Xbox One at a later date.

The second entry in the Sega’s cult classic rail shooter series, The House of the Dead 2: Remake sports a remastered soundtrack and graphical revamp, as well as including the same co-op play, branching paths and multiple endings of the original game. The remake will also include a Boss Rush Mode, where you must defeat the game’s bosses as fast as you can, as well as a Training Mode, allowing you to hone your skills in different training scenarios.

The story picks up after the events of the first game, where in February 2000, the city of Venice has suddenly become overrun by hostile creatures. AMS agents James Taylor and Gary Stewart have been dispatched to investigate. Upon their arrival, they soon realize that the situation resembles what happened at the Curien Mansion from two years prior. Determined to uncover the source of the infestation, the duo must shoot their way out.
