Escape Room Horror Game ‘Scholar’s Mate’ Arrives July 10 on the Nintendo Switch [Trailer]

After making its way to Steam, the PlayStation and Xbox Series last year, JanduSoft has announced that their escape room horror title Scholar’s Mate will finally be heading to the Nintendo Switch. In fact, you’ll be able to grab the game in a matter of days, as Scholar’s Mate will arrive via the Nintendo eShop on July 10.

A blend of puzzle-solving and psychological tension, Scholar’s Mate is described as “an immersive first-person horror experience.” The game puts you in the shoes of Judith, a young woman who wakes up in  a seemingly deserted psychiatric hospital. Of course, that soon changes, as Judith soon finds herself pursued by a man named Eddie, who had kidnapped Judith and has locked her in the hospital. As a result, Judith must not only find her way out, but also avoid a horrible fate at the hands of Eddie.

In order to escape, Judith will need to explore and solve the hidden secrets of the hospital. And this would be simple if Eddie wasn’t constantly stalking Judith around every corner and corridor of the hospital. As one might expect from a good antagonist in this type of game, Eddie can hear you as well as see you. As a result, you’ll need to exercise caution when moving around, as he can hear you if you run, and using your flashlight is a giveaway.
