Get ready for one uncomfortable viewing experience in Ian Tripp’s new film Sincerely Saul, a film all about a guy who just wants to lose his virginity. It’s a weird, special film about loving unlovable characters and surviving suburbia.
Read the full synopsis below:
After continuous half-hearted attempts at killing himself, Saul decides that this holiday season will mark his time limit of losing his virginity before the year is over, or he’ll kill himself. Naturally, everyone is tired of him, especially his bedridden Grandma, rotting away together in suburban purgatory.
Now, check out the trailer:
Tripp wrote and directed Sincerely Saul, with his production company, Children of Celluloid, producing and distributing the film.
Ryan Schafer co-stars alongside Mickey Faerch (Josie) with a cast of characters that includes Augie Duke (Moon Garden), Karl Backus (Thane of East County), and Randy Davison (Hemet, or the Landlady Don’t Drink Tea). Rounding out the cast is Brendan Cahalan, Amber Grayson, and Paul Fisher III, who are returning actors from Schafer and Tripp’s debut found footage horror, Everybody Dies by the End.
In a statement, Tripp said, “This film is a labor of love, ironically enough, about characters full of such spite and animosities, but we heal for them where they cannot and that’s what these ventures are about for me; the exploration of collective empathy and how far we can take the audience into the dark with a character and still return home with love and forgiveness for them.”
Sincerely Saul will be released worldwide on VOD on September 29, 2025.
