DREAD has announced that The Jester 2 will be available on VOD beginning October 17. After its recent theatrical run in partnership with Fathom Events, this killer Halloween-set sequel is finally being unleashed in your living room — and right in time for the scariest season.
Director Colin Krawchuk says he can’t wait to unleash the Jester back onto fans. “In case you missed it in theaters, I’m thrilled to say The Jester 2 will be coming to VOD October 17th,” he reveals.
The first Jester feature film shocked fans into paying attention to Halloween’s crown prince. And now, with The Jester 2, they’re going to fear him.
The sequel doubles down on the scares and gore, while also introducing Max, one of horror’s most important new Final Girls. Nightmare illusions, brutal killings, and a hellish allegiance forged in hell, this chapter is sure to leave its permanent brand on the horror genre.
Epic Pictures CEO Patrick Ewald says the creative team pushed themselves to raise the stakes. “With The Jester 2, we’ve taken the franchise to the next level,” Ewald promises. “Fans can expect inventive kills, nostalgic vibes, and electrifying performances from the cast, everything that makes The Jester 2 such a unique and thrilling experience, now coming home just in time for Halloween.”
The new film opens on Halloween night, when teen magician Max (Kaitlyn Trentham) finds herself locked in a vicious showdown with the Jester, a nightmarish supernatural trickster with real dark magic and a killer act. Every illusion becomes a trap. Every escape becomes another sleight of hand gone wrong. If Max wants to survive, she’ll need to pull off the ultimate trick: beating the devil at his own game.
The sequel reunites key players from the first film. Colin Krawchuk returns as writer and director, joined by Michael Sheffield, reprising his role as the Jester. Rising star Kaitlyn Trentham leads the film as Max, joined by Jessica Ambuehl and Dingani Beza. The film is produced by Patrick Ewald, Cole Payne, and Jake Heineke.
