NEON Delivers ‘4 X 4: The Event’ – Add to Cart. Add to Body Count.

NEON, the award-winning studio behind some of the most daring and celebrated films of the last 9 years, including Longlegs and The Monkey, tells DREAD that it has acquired worldwide rights to 4 X 4: The Event, filmmaker Alex Ullom’s highly sought-after sophomore feature

In the high-concept horror film, eight contestants enter an illegal sensory-assault livestream where they must kill or be killed using only what they can order online.

On the heels of acquiring Ullom’s debut film, It Ends, just last month, NEON is reteaming with the writer/director on his next horror feature, which will begin production later this year.

The film will be produced by Spooky Pictures (Barbarian, Strange Darling, Late Night With the Devil) and Image Nation under their multi-title partnership, alongside Divide/Conquer as a producing partner.

Producers for the film include Roy Lee and Steven Schneider for Spooky Pictures, Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath for Divide / Conquer, Haley Johnson, and Evan Barber. Executive producers include Ben Ross for Image Nation and Jakob Pollack for Spooky Pictures. The deal was negotiated by Kate Gondwe for NEON with UTA Independent Film Group on behalf of the filmmakers.

NEON is also collaborating with Spooky Pictures and Image Nation on Damian McCarthy’s upcoming supernatural horror film Hokum starring Adam Scott, which will release in theaters later this year.
