Bruce Campbell Has Some Words of Advice for Filmgoers Ahead of ‘Evil Dead Burn’

Bruce Campbell Reveals Cancer Diagnosis; Cancels Con Appearances

Bruce Campbell knows a thing or two about the Evil Dead franchise. He’s the man who first took on the deadites as Ash in Sam Raimi‘s Evil Dead. That role propelled him to the face of the series, going on to star in Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness, the “Ash vs. Evil Dead” show, as well as a cameo in Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead. When he speaks about these movies, we listen. And he has some advice for anyone about to watch Evil Dead Burn.

Taking to X yesterday, Bruce had this to say about the new Evil Dead movie hitting theaters soon from director Sébastien Vanicek. “If you’ve never seen an Evil Dead movie before, you might want to practice before seeing this one. It all Burns on 7/10.

Now, this quote is certainly up for interpretation. But the way I read it, this is Bruce telling us to get ready, because we’re about to witness possibly the most intense Evil Dead film since the original, maybe in the series (not likely, but hey, a fan can dream).

Either way, by all accounts, Evil Dead Burn looks to continue the streak of banger Evil Dead movies, and we at Dread could not be more excited about it. Campbell’s words just pushed that excitement into the stratosphere.

In the film, after the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws in their secluded family home. As one by one they are transformed into Deadites—turning the gathering into a family reunion from hell—she comes to discover that the vows she took in life live on… even in death.

Dune: Part Two actress Souheila Yacoub stars as Alice in Evil Dead Burn alongside Hunter Doohan (Wednesday), Luciane Buchanan (The Night Agent), and Tandi Wright (Pearl), with Erroll Shand, Edgar Price, Maude Davey, Keanu Karim, and Victory Ndukwe.

From producer Sam Raimi, Evil Dead Burn heads to theaters on July 10, 2026.
