Enough Teasing, Here’s Cthulhu: New Trailer for HBO’s “Lovecraft Country” is the One You’ve Been Waiting For

From Misha GreenJordan Peele and J.J. Abrams, HBO’s new horror series “Lovecraft Country” is premiering August 16, and a wild and awesome new trailer has arrived today.

This latest official trailer makes damn sure you know there are monsters both human and Lovecraftian in the series, and the big bad himself even makes an appearance.

Yes, I’m talking about Cthulhu. Watch the new trailer below!

“Lovecraft Country” is based on the 2016 novel by Matt Ruff.

The series follows Atticus Freeman (Jonathan Majors) as he joins up with his friend Letitia (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and his Uncle George (Courtney B. Vance) to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father (Michael Kenneth Williams).

This begins a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the terrifying monsters that could be ripped from an H.P. Lovecraft paperback.

“Lovecraft Country” is executive produced by Misha Green, who also serves as showrunner, along with J.J AbramsJordan PeeleBill CarraroYann Demange (Episode 1 director), Daniel Sackheim (Episodes 2 & 3 director) and David Knoller (exec producer on Episode 1).
