“Shark Week” Kicks Off August 9th; Will Explore How the Pandemic Has Allowed Sharks to Reclaim the Ocean

There’s still a lot you don’t know.

That’s the marketing hook for the 32nd annual “Shark Week” programming block, with Discovery Channel announcing this week that this year’s fun will be kicking off on August 9th!

Entertainment Weekly teases that “Shark Week 2020” will feature 20 hours of brand new programming, “including a special that marks the 20th anniversary of Air Jaws.”

The site continues, “You will swim the globe and visit such places as New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa to learn how the pandemic lockdown — which reduced the number of people playing or working in the oceans — has given sharks the opportunity to reclaim the oceans.”

The official schedule is coming soon. Check out the first teaser below.
