Side-Scroller ‘Ghost Knight: A Dark Tale’ Harkens Back to The Classics [Trailer]

Horror fans don’t really have many recent action-platformers to call their own. Blasphemous is too Soulslike to be called an action-platformer, while something like Axiom Verge is too Metroidvania. Leave it to solo developer Grimware Games and their upcoming Ghost Knight: A Dark Tale to be the answer.

Set for release on Steam, Ghost Knight is very reminiscent of Ghouls ‘N Ghosts. You assume the role of Ghost Knight, a spirit bound to a suit of armour. The mad king of the land has opened portals to a dark dimension in his quest for immortality. Obviously, you must now clean things up.

Featuring similar mechanics to Capcom’s classic that requires you to be quick with your reflexes (as well as your weapon tosses), you’ll have to fight your way through levels chock full of monsters, traps and atmosphere. While Ghost Knight doesn’t have a release date as of yet, we do have a great-looking trailer to get you excited.
