Chris D’Elia Being Removed from Zack Snyder’s ‘Army of the Dead’; Tig Notaro Will Replace Him

In the wake of sexual harassment allegations against Chris D’Elia, THR is reporting today that the actor/comedian is being replaced in Zack Snyder‘s upcoming zombie movie Army of the Dead by Tig Notaro (“Star Trek: Discovery,” “Transparent”).

The Netflix movie has already completed production, but THR explains that it “will now undergo a quick round of reshoots to incorporate Notaro’s role.”

“Due to actors being already dispersed post-filming and due to pandemic restrictions, the incorporation will be a combination of techniques, from actually reshooting scenes opposite an acting partner to using green screen and CG technology to blend her in.”

The movie takes place in Las Vegas,” Snyder explains the plot. “A zombie plague hits Vegas, and they’re able to contain the virus to the city – they build a wall out of shipping containers. And then the city falls. And six years later, one of the casino owners hires this group of zombie soldiers to go get his money that he left in a safe in the casino.”

The cast also includes Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Ana De La Reguera, Theo Rossi, Huma Qureshi, Garret Dillahunt, Omari Hardwick, Hiroyuki Sanada, Raúl Castillo, Nora Arnezeder, Matthias Schweighöfer, Samantha Win and Rich Cetrone.
