New Upcoming Mod For Classic ‘Resident Evil 2’ Puts Your Survival Skills to The Test

The folks at Biohazard Declassified have found another fan game that once again looks to take the original PC version of Resident Evil 2, and crank out something for the diehards. Resident Evil: During The Storm is from Resevilnemesis30, the same folks behind the Mortal Night mod (also for Resident Evil 2) that brings back Kevin Ryman of Resident Evil Outbreak fame to put the “survival” in survival horror.

During The Storm takes place at the very start of the “Raccoon City Incident”, where you must manage the already extremely limited resources that the RPD had before it eventually succumbed to the outbreak. Ryman must travel through remixed areas of Raccoon City, with different choices affecting outcomes throughout the game.

Little has been released with regards to the actual contents of the campaign for During The Storm, although the story will be delivered in chapters, which potentially leads to changes in perspective, characters, and scenarios. The game will also attempt to remain canon, meaning that it will borrow elements directly from Resident Evil 2, as well as the ‘Desperate Times’ campaign that was featured in Resident Evil Outbreak File 2.

There’s no release date as of yet, there are videos (such as the one below), as well as those on Resevilnemesis30’s YouTube page. They’ve been pretty good with relaying updates for the past three months, so here’s hoping that the project continues on this pace.
