Shudder’s ‘Scare Me’ Trailer Brings Scary Stories to Life [Video]

Shudder went HAM ahead of this year’s Sundance Film Festival, not only acquiring Jayro Bustamante’s La Llorona (now streaming), but also nabbing the horror-comedy Scare Me, which stars “You’re the Worst’s” always excellent Aya Cash.

The streaming service kicks off the Halloween season with Josh Ruben‘s directorial debut on October 1st, also sharing with EW the film’s first teaser trailer in which Cash and Ruben – who also stars – attempt top scare the shit out of each other in a cabin in the middle of the woods.

Our very own Meagan Navarro attended the film’s world premiere, writing in her review that “Scare Me offers up imaginative and cozy horror-comedy.”

She adds: “As a battle of wits between two endlessly entertaining characters, over the nature of horror movies and scary stories no less, Scare Me feels like a spooky, cozy warm blanket worth cuddling up to by the fire.”

Halloweentime already looks to be lit.
