Ice Cube (Anaconda, Ghosts of Mars) is headed back into the world of genre entertainment in an upcoming sci-fi movie for Universal that doesn’t yet have a title at this time.
Deadline reports that Rich Lee is set to direct a script penned by Kenneth Golde, and the “grounded sci-fi movie” is said to be in the vein of Neill Blomkamp’s District 9.
The film “touches on themes of privacy versus surveillance.”
The site notes that the film is going to be shot remotely, “with all actors and crew working from their individual separate locations.” Learn more about the project on Deadline.
