High school is hard enough, but for the characters in Paramount’s Spontaneous, it’s about to get a whole lot messier. Based on the explosively funny novel by Aaron Starmer, writer/director Brian Duffield‘s coming-of-age comedy of horrors sees a particularly strange epidemic spread through a high school. These teens, well, they’re quite literally exploding at random.
“When students in their high school begin inexplicably exploding (literally…), seniors Mara (Katherine Langford) and Dylan (Charlie Plummer) struggle to survive in a world where each moment may be their last. As an unexpected romance blossoms between them, Mara and Dylan discover that when tomorrow is no longer promised, they can finally start living for today!”
Meagan Navarro loved the film, writing that “Spontaneous explodes with attitude, charm, and gore in teen dramedy.”
Already on VOD platforms, Spontaneous gets a DVD release on November 10th.
