‘The Matrix 4’ Moves into New December 2021 Release Date

In addition to Dune and The Batman, we’ve learned this week that Warner Bros. has also shifted the release date for Lana Wachowski‘s The Matrix 4, bumping it slightly *ahead*.

Recently planned for April 1, 2022, the film will now release December 22, 2021. Before COVID-19 was a thing, you may recall that the film’s original date was May 21, 2021.

Keanu ReevesJada Pinkett Smith and Carrie-Anne Moss are all back in the untitled fourth installment, alongside Priyanka Chopra, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jonathan Groff, Toby Onwumere, Eréndira Ibarra, Jessica Henwick and Neil Patrick Harris.

Plot details are not available at this time.

Lana Wachowski is directing for Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow. Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell are co-writing the script with Wachowski.
