‘Obsession’ Streams Exclusively on Peacock July 17

One of the biggest horror stories of the year is finally heading home.

After shattering expectations at the global box office, Curry Barker‘s Obsession (read our review) will begin streaming exclusively on Peacock on July 17.

Released by Focus Features, the breakout indie sensation has become one of 2026’s defining horror films, surpassing the $400 million mark worldwide after launching from a reported $750,000 production budget. Along the way, the film earned Certified Fresh and Verified Hot status on Rotten Tomatoes, cementing itself as one of the year’s biggest critical and commercial success stories.

Written and directed by Curry Barker, Obsession stars Michael Johnston (new interview), Inde Navarrette, Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless, and Andy Richter.

The film follows a hopeless romantic who breaks the mysterious “One Wish Willow” in hopes of winning over his longtime crush. He gets exactly what he wished for, only to discover that some desires come with a terrifying—and deadly—price.

If you somehow missed Obsession during its remarkable theatrical run, this is the perfect opportunity to see what all the buzz has been about. The film has become one of the most talked-about horror releases of the decade, proving that original horror can still become a genuine cultural phenomenon.

Obsession joins Peacock’s growing horror library, which also includes Nosferatu, Knock at the Cabin, Five Nights at Freddy’s, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, M3GAN, M3GAN Unrated, The Exorcist: Believer, You Should Have Left, Freaky, Sick, Imaginary, and Wolf Man.

Will you be revisiting Obsession on Peacock, or will July 17 be your first time using a One Wish Willow?
