Danny Elfman Puts on a Fake Smile in Haunting “Happy” Music Video

While horror fans know Danny Elfman as the legendary composer behind such classics as Batman, Beetlejuice, Darkman, Nightbreed, Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Frighteners, Hellboy II, Men in Black, Spider-Man and almost a hundred others, he does offer up a plethora of side projects ranging from concerts to his own music.

Overlooked in the madness of this past October’s jam-packed chaos was Elfman’s surprise release of a nightmarish new song, “Happy”, from Anti- Records and Epitaph Records.

Directed by Aron Johnson, the video twists and contorts the usually whimsical Elfman into a nightmare of fear and anxiety all encapsulated into a shocking four and a half minutes of madness. Everything is crumbling…
