‘Don’t Breathe 2’: Stephen Lang Teases a Sequel That’s “Very Much Its Own Thing”

Filming recently wrapped on the tentatively titled Don’t Breathe 2, a sequel to Fede Alvarez’s home invasion film that was directed by Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe co-writer Rodo Sayagues. Stephen Lang will be back as the “Blind Man,” who survived the events of the 2016 movie.

Chatting with THR this week, Lang teased the sequel will be a different beast entirely.

“I never walked away from a scene on this feeling like we’d left something on the table there. We really strived to get everything we could out of it,” said Lang. “It has a tremendous kinship with the first film, but in many ways — in every way — it’s very much its own thing.”

The plot details we recently obtained, well, they very much reflect Lang’s comments.

In Don’t Breathe 2, the Blind Man has been hiding out for years in an isolated cabin and has taken in and raised a young girl orphaned from a house fire.

Their quiet existence is shattered when a group of kidnappers show up and take the girl, forcing the Blind Man to leave his safe haven to save her.

It sounds like Lang’s Blind Man is now something of a protagonist in the upcoming sequel, which will venture outside the confines of a home. Should be interesting, to say the least.
