We’ll be meeting Negan’s wife Lucille in the upcoming “additional episodes” for Season 10 of “The Walking Dead,” and Hilarie Burton Morgan has been cast in the role!
ComicBook.com broke the news today, revealing that Burton Morgan, the real-life wife of Negan actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, has come on board in a “guest star” capacity.
She’ll appear in “one of the additional six episodes coming to AMC in early 2021.”
The actress tweeted today, “Been pretty hard to keep this a secret. But I love working with @JDMorgan. I love watching him become #Negan and take on that swagger. And I love the @TheWalkingDead family. They’ve been a part of our family for ages and I’m so grateful for their kindness. Xoxo #hereslucille.”
Lucille has been referenced on the AMC series but never actually seen. Lucille died before the zombie apocalypse, and Negan’s trusty baseball bat is of course named after her.
The couple has recently appeared on screen together in AMC’s “Friday Night in with the Morgans,” which features conversations about the pandemic and life in quarantine.
“The Walking Dead” will end with an expanded two-year eleventh season that will span 24 episodes. But first up, six extra episodes technically part of Season 10 are on the way.
