Leaked ‘Resident Evil Village’ Image Shows Potential Plot Twist?

Adding insult to injury for Capcom this week is another potential leak for Resident Evil Village, though this one is self-inflicted. After the ransomware attack and reveal of a potential release date for Village, Capcom had updated its Steam page for the upcoming Resident Evil entry by potentially showing off a plot twist.

While nothing’s been confirmed, if you’re not in the mood for potential spoilers, you might want to skip this one.

Spotted by the folks at Biohazard Declassified, the image is the same one we’ve seen before of Chris Redfield against a snowy backdrop with the game’s title in front of him. However, when perusing the game’s SteamDB.info page, the image had been altered.

Further raising suspicion is the fact that this image was quickly reverted to the original one of Chris, but not before the updated version was snagged by internet sleuths. Now while one could jump to conclusions and say that Chris is potentially one of the Man-Beasts that’s slated to be a focus in Village, it could also be interpreted that in this game, Chris isn’t the upstanding hero that we’ve grown to love. After all, the trailer (and rumours) has hinted that Chris is going to factor into the plot as less of a protagonist.

Either way, this just adds to the intrigue for Resident Evil Village ahead of its release next year.

Resident Evil Village will be released for PC, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series.
