‘Resident Evil’ Film Reboot Release Date Tentatively Set For September 2021

Thanks to Biohazard Cast, we have our tentative release date for the upcoming Resident Evil film reboot. Constantin Film has updated their website to include a new release date of September 9, 2021 for the Johannes Roberts project.

The website is still pretty bare bones and is still in German, but hey, we’ll take it for now. This is also contingent on the current pandemic situation, which has led Warner Bros. to offload their entire 2021 film slate onto HBO Max, including Conjuring 3, the Mortal Kombat film reboot, and Godzilla vs. King Kong.

Meanwhile, images from the production are continuing to trickle online, some of which are coming from the actors themselves. Robbie Amell, who plays Chris Redfield, recently posted to his Instagram story an image of Chris’ iconic Samurai Edge handgun propped up against three herb plants. The caption pretty much says it all.

Meanwhile, Biohazard Declassified and Residence of Evil have been doing their continued job of showing off production photos of the film, which is currently shooting in Sudbury, Ontario in Canada. The latest image from Biohazard Declassified has what looks to be the front entrance of the Raccoon City Orphanage, which secretly operated as an Umbrella facility, where children were raised there as candidates for viral weapons research.

Not to be outdone, Chad Rook, who plays Richard Aiken, did a little Instagram story of his own. His picture of the shotgun shells alludes to Neptune, the giant shark in the Arklay Laboratory beneath the Spencer Mansion, and the boss fight with Yawn, the giant snake that can be found in the attic of the Spencer Mansion. Also, a potential appearance by the Crimson Head zombies?

Meanwhile, Residence of Evil has photos from within the Scottish Rite Club in Hamilton, Ontario (which was also used in IT Chapter 2), which is being used as the interior of the Spencer Mansion.

Resident Evil stars Donal Logue, Kaya Scodelario, Hannah John-Kamen, Robbie Amell, Tom Hopper, Avan Jogia, and Neal McDonough.
