Adam Egypt Mortimer, the director behind the infinitely awesome Daniel Isn’t Real, will see his dark superhero action-thriller Archenemy released on DVD and Blu-ray February 16, 2021, after a recent VOD release through RLJE Films.
In Archenemy, Max Fist (“True Blood’s” Joe Manganiello) claims to be a hero from another dimension who fell through time and space to Earth, where he has no powers. No one believes his stories except for a local teen named Hamster. Together, they take to the streets to wipe out the local drug syndicate and its vicious crime boss known as The Manager.
Extra features include a making-of featurette.
Meagan Navarro reviewed the film, calling it “stylish” and writing that it “offers a violent, gritty deconstruction of the superhero genre.”
