Behaviour Interactive is continuing their next-gen overhaul for their hit asymmetrical multiplayer title Dead by Daylight. In fact, the developer has recently posted an update video highlighting not only the graphical updates, but also the upcoming tweaks for the game, including matchmaking.
For starters, the big change in the impending updates involves the game’s HUD for both survivors and killers. A brand-new HUD will allow you to scale the interface independently of the game’s resolution. The new UI will allow players to have better control over their items and skills. And if you’re playing as a Survivor, the update will have clearer info about your teammates.
Graphics aren’t the only thing being tweaked, as the title’s matchmaking system will see changes later this year. Currently, Behaviour is testing some new matchmaking ratings, but the plan is to introduce a new rank system in which players will be receiving monthly rewards based on the highest rank they’ve reached. However, as a result, ranks will no longer affect the matchmaking system.
And then there are the gameplay tweaks. For example, The Clown’s gameplay will receive some changes, as well as the addition of a new yellow gas that will boost the movement speed of each character who passes through it by 10% for a few seconds. Reload time for bottles is also reduced to 3 seconds, and you won’t need to reload each bottle separately as every reload grants you a combination of four bottles.
Rounding things out is the news that the Gideon Meat Plant and Crotus Prenn Asylum will be the next maps later this year to get their graphical updates for next-gen. You can see the concepts in the tweet below.
Dead by Daylight is now available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
