Streamer Finds ‘The Last of Us’ Easter Egg Seven Years After the Game’s Release

It’s always cool to discover secrets in games left by the developers, especially ones that are found long after everyone thought they’d discovered everything there was to find in the game. For Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us, a speedrunner by the name of Anthony Caliber unearthed an Easter Egg seven long years after the game’s initial release back in 2013.

The Easter Egg in question acknowledges the Cordyceps infection in the game world and its origins, and is pretty easy to miss. The Egg is found right at the start of the game when you’re controlling Sara, Joe’s daughter. You’ll find it right around the TV report about a gas leak, which is followed by an explosion.

To trigger the Easter Egg, start a new game on any difficulty (excluding Grounded Mode). Pick a save slot so you can trigger a checkpoint, then play the game until you head downstairs. After hearing the gas explosion, get to the edge of the stairs at the bottom, then quit back to the main menu.

Load your save data, and you should continue from the above point. Instead of proceeding, go back up the stairs and into Joel’s room, where you can see a TV report about the Cordyceps infection. This Easter Egg is available in the PS3 original, as well as the PS4 remaster.

Big thanks to Twisted Voxel for this one.

The Top 10 Streaming Scary Movies of Today (According to Netflix)

Given that Netflix really is the master of their own data, how many times a viewer streams The Ridiculous 6, or what films don't get watched all the way straight through, or how many times someone watches an episode of Bill Nye Saves the World, it was easy for them to come up with the list based on just one percentage: 70 percent.
