Director Scott Cooper‘s Antlers, produced by Guillermo del Toro, had been set for release in April 2020 via Disney’s Searchlight, but that date was of course bumped back indefinitely due to the ongoing pandemic. A new date of February 2021 was subsequently announced but then also ditched, but today brings word that the final date (hopefully) has been set it stone.
Searchlight will release Antlers in theaters on October 29, 2021.
In Antlers, a small-town Oregon teacher (Keri Russell) and her brother (Jesse Plemons), the local sheriff, become entwined with a young student (Jeremy T. Thomas) harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences.
Based on the short story “The Quiet Boy” by Nick Antosca (“Channel Zero”), Antlers is written by Henry Chaisson and Antosca, with revisions by Cooper.
