Originally announced as 20th Century Fox World, the long-gestating theme park Genting SkyWorlds is finally set to open in Malaysia later this year.
While a legal battle forced the park to change its name, SkyWorlds will still be home to several Fox IPs, including that of Alien and Predator, or more specifically, Alien vs. Predator.
AvP Galaxy has been keeping tabs on the construction via Themeparkx and has come across concept art for a few potential yet-to-be-announced attractions.
Below is a behind-the-scenes look at Alien Terrorforma with Director, Art Director, and VFX Designer Ken Nakada.
“The video shows samples of Nakada’s art direction and design for props, set pieces, costumes, environments, future technology, exoplanet data acquisition/analysis systems, production design, and VFX design,” explains the video.
“Nakada also directed live-action photography and served as director on all five shows.”
Alien Terrorforma is said to be an elevator-drop attraction, similar to The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
The site also says there will be an Alien-themed area with “the showcase ride being an indoor/outdoor coaster-darkride hybrid, similar to Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Studios parks.”
They share the following track layout.
Lastly, comes a video with storyboards for an Alien vs. Predator attraction, although they’re dated from 2017. It’s unclear if this is still part of the park’s plans or if it’s evolved into the aforementioned Alien ride.
