Kevin Smith’s “Masters of the Universe: Revelation” Being Scored by Bear McCreary; Listen to a Preview

Coming this year, Kevin Smith is developing Mattel Television’s original anime series “Masters of the Universe: Revelation” for Netflix, and Smith has announced on social media today that the show’s score is being composed by the great Bear McCreary (“The Walking Dead,” Godzilla: King of the Monsters). He’s also provided us with a sneak peek preview today.

The voice cast will include Mark Hamill, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kevin ConroyTony ToddHenry RollinsLena HeadeyAlicia SilverstoneJustin Long and Jason Mewes.

“We went in with this mantra of, like, nobody is winking and nobody’s acting like this is weirdness,” Smith told Newsarama. “Man-At-Arms, Stinkor, it’s all played incredibly Game of Thrones-straight.” He describes the series as “a sequel series to the classic era that everybody knows, almost as if this was the next episode in the [original] Filmation series.”

Smith added in that same recent chat, “If you like the style of [Netflix’s] Castlevania, just put He-Man through that filter, and it has that feel and look to it. It’s anime style.”
