Bloober Team Hiring Combat Programmer For Next Game

Bloober Team aren’t looking to rest after the success of The Medium, as they’ve already announced hiring for their next title. Naturally, it’ll be horror-based, but this time around (according to the listing), combat is going to be a big focus.

According to the team’s recruitment page (along with the tweet announcing the recruitment), Bloober Team is looking to hire a dedicated combat programmer for their next project. The role will be responsible for creating “both melee and ranged” combat systems and integrating them with other parts of the game.

It’ll certainly be a change for the studio, as for most of their games, combat wasn’t a big focus. Rather, it was more along the lines of running away. Their last game to feature a big combat component was 2014’s Basement Crawl/Brawl for the PlayStation 4, which was essentially a Bomberman knockoff.

As to what the next project is about is anyone’s guess. There was that video last year that seemingly teased a sequel to Observer, so perhaps we could see the return of Detective Daniel Lazarski? Then again, he was played by Rutger Hauer, so that might complicate things if they are going in that direction.

The Medium is currently out now on Steam, GOG, Xbox Series, as well as the Xbox Game Pass. And in case you need any more convincing that it’s a good’un, check out our review.

Given that Netflix really is the master of their own data, how many times a viewer streams The Ridiculous 6, or what films don't get watched all the way straight through, or how many times someone watches an episode of Bill Nye Saves the World, it was easy for them to come up with the list based on just one percentage: 70 percent.
