We already knew that Stubbs The Zombie would be coming back to the Xbox. But, surprise! The cult title will also be headed to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC!
The reveal happened during Nintendo’s Nintendo Direct, with Stubbs lumbering onto the Switch and the other platforms on March 16, 2021. The game will also be available through backwards compatibility on Xbox Series and PlayStation 5.
Apart from getting the usual achievements and widescreen support, the original game will remain intact. So, no remastered textures or upgraded models. But hey, that’s all part of the charm, isn’t it? Plus, you also have the classic couch co-op feature (how many games these games have that?).
For those wondering just what the heck the game is about, it’s 1959 and the city of Punchbowl, PA, is a beacon of progress and ideal living. That is, until it was discovered that the city was built on top of Stubbs’ grave. Not one to lay down, Stubbs digs himself up, and proceeds to claw through all of Punchbowl’s citizens as revenge.
