“The Twilight Zone” Reboot Series Ends After Just Two Seasons

The Jordan Peele-produced rebirth of “The Twilight Zone” will end after just two seasons, writes THR.

While CBS All Access actually did want to continue on with a third season, which would have appeared on the newly rebranded Paramount+ later this year, the site reports that Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg’s companies both walked away.

Personally, I feel like the team behind “The Twilight Zone” completely missed the target and never tapped into the spirit of Rod Serling’s original black and white classic. Maybe Peele and Kinsberg felt the same or weren’t able to give the series the attention it needed in order to ascend to greatness?

If anything, Paramount’s desire to make a third season bodes well for the franchise’s future – maybe the series gets rebooted once again or we even finally get that long-gestating feature film that’s been in development for years?

Digressing, “Peele’s Twilight Zone ran for two seasons and 20 episodes and wrapped its run last summer when CBS All Access abandoned its weekly rollout to a binge model. The series, from CBS Studios and Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, attracted an all-star cast, including Steven Yeun, Kumail Nanjiani, Rhea Seehorn, Sanaa Lathan, Adam Scott, Billy Porter, Jurnee Smollett and Chris Meloni, among others.”

If you haven’t seen it yet, Serling’s original “Twilight Zone” currently lives on the CBS/Paramount+ platform and carries some of the best sci-fi and horror stories ever told.

Given that Netflix really is the master of their own data, how many times a viewer streams The Ridiculous 6, or what films don't get watched all the way straight through, or how many times someone watches an episode of Bill Nye Saves the World, it was easy for them to come up with the list based on just one percentage: 70 percent.
