Classically-inspired survival horror game Tormented Souls is still very much on the way for PC gamers, although for last-gen owners of the PS4 and Xbox One, you’ll unfortunately have to face facts. Publisher PQube and developers Dual Effect and Abstract Digital Works have announced via Gematsu that they’ve dropped the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game to focus on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions of the game.
It’s not all bad though, as Nintendo Switch owners will now be getting the survival horror title. And it’s a physical version, to boot!
Harkening back to the classic PS1 days of Resident Evil and Silent Hill, Tormented Souls features optional tank controls, fixed camera perspectives and an “oldie but a goodie” spooky mansion. The story centres on a woman named Caroline Walker, who is investigating the disappearance of twin girls at the Winterlake Mansion. Caroline ends up waking in the middle of the night, naked in a bathtub, and hooked up to medical equipment. She must now explore the halls of Winterlake, all the while fending off whatever it is lurking in the mansion.
