As we learned last year, Jared Leto‘s version of the Joker from Suicide Squad will be making a return in the upcoming “Snyder Cut” of Justice League, with the 4-hour director’s cut coming exclusively to HBO Max on Thursday, March 18. In addition to resurrecting lots of unused footage, Snyder also shot brand new scenes, which is how Joker will be brought in.
Snyder recently described that Leto’s Joker in the “Snyder Cut” will be a “road-weary Joker,” honoring the character’s appearance in Suicide Squad but presenting him with a new look.
Taking to social media today, Snyder has shared a new teaser image of his Joker, tagging Suicide Squad director David Ayer and noting that he’s “honored to have our worlds collide.”

The “Snyder Cut,” which Warner Bros. is spending tens of millions of dollars on, is said to be quite a bit different and a whole lot darker, with Darkseid notably featured in the movie. Ray Porter plays the super-villain in scenes from the film that never ended up in the theatrical cut.
In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
The “Snyder Cut” is said to run a whopping 4-hours long, packed with previously shot footage from Zack Snyder’s version of Justice League that we’ve never seen, along with 4 or 5 minutes of brand new footage that Snyder began shooting just last year.
