New ‘Resident Evil Village’ Footage Details Combat, New Features, And Being Chased by Lady Dimitrescu

Some of you might like this new gameplay footage for Resident Evil Village more than others. Over on PlayStation Blog, Capcom has unveiled new the new footage (in gif form) that showcases combat, villains, and environments.

And yes, much like Mr. X in the Resident Evil 2, you do get chased by Lady Dimitrescu.

There’s obviously more to this footage than that. For one, typewriters are back in lieu of Ethan’s tape recorders from Resident Evil VII. Thankfully, this time you won’t have to track down and hoard ink ribbons, so you can save to your heart’s content.

Another new addition is handy for those who go away for a bit and come back to the game, as Ethan now carries a journal of sorts which stores your maps and discovered files. There’s also a tab devoted to Ethan’s notes that serve as a recap for you when you return, and have no idea what to do next.

Also, the new footage confirms that the feral beings in the game are in fact Lycans. You’ll be seeing a lot of these guys in the upcoming Village demo (unless you PlayStation owners took advantage of early access). They hunt in packs, so keep your ammo handy.

There’s a lot more info available on the page, so hit it up when you can. Resident Evil Village arrives May 7 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Google Stadia, and PC via Steam.
