“If it’s Halloween, it must be Saw.”
It was recently announced that Starz is getting set to become the exclusive streaming home for Lionsgate’s theatrical releases, and it looks like Darren Bousman‘s franchise relaunch Spiral: From the Book of Saw (read Meagan’s review) will be part of that deal. THR reports today that Spiral, released in theaters earlier this month, is coming to Starz in October.
The movie “will launch exclusively on Starz on October 8.” THR notes, “The Lionsgate and Starz marketing and publicity teams are jointly working on the horror pic’s multiphase rollout.”
“Starz is excited to expand upon our recently announced theatrical output agreement with Lionsgate bringing more premium content to our subscribers ahead of schedule with Spiral and the blockbuster Saw franchise,” said Starz president of domestic networks Alison Hoffman.
Spiral, directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II-IV), stars Chris Rock & Samuel L. Jackson and follows a sadistic mastermind who unleashes a twisted form of justice…
“Working in the shadow of an esteemed police veteran (Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Rock) and his rookie partner (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past.
