‘Underexposed! The 50 Greatest Movies Never Made’ Explores Guillermo del Toro’s ‘At the Mountains of Madness’ and More

Sometimes it’s the movies that *weren’t* made that are the most fascinating of them all, and those are the projects Joshua Hull is exploring in his brand new book Underexposed.

Now available from Abrams Books, Underexposed! The 50 Greatest Movies Never Made is presented by PosterSpy, and in it “screenwriter and filmmaker Hull details the speedbumps and roadblocks that kept 50 films across different genres and eras from ever reaching the silver screen.” In addition, original posters were created for each of the unmade movies!

“From the misguided and rejected, like Stanley Kubrick’s Lord of the Rings, starring the Beatles; to would-be masterpieces that might still see the light of day, like Guillermo del Toro’s At the Mountains of Madness. To help bring these lost projects to life, fifty artists from around the world, in association with PosterSpy, have contributed original posters that accompany each essay and give a little glimpse of what might have been.”

“With humor and reverence, Hull discusses plotlines, rumored casting, and so much more. Underexposed! also features a foreword by writer and director Fred Dekker, and is sure to spark the cineaste’s imagination with tantalizing visions of the greatest movies never made.”

You can grab your copy from Abrams Books today.
